Overnight holds
Buy something on one day of a league and sell it on another. This shows what that would have been worth, measured against the two things you could have held instead — chaos and divines.
What this measures
The daily history comes from poe.watch, which records one price per item per day at about 22:30 UTC. League days are counted from the launch at 20:00 UTC, so “day 1” is the first 24 hours. A single point per day cannot separate a night from a day; read this as day-to-day.
vs divine is the column that matters. Chaos inflates hard early in a league — a divine went from 84c to 190c in Allflame’s first week — so a currency that doubled in chaos over that stretch still lost you money. A gain against divines is a real gain.
Thin data is hidden by default: prices poe.watch marks low-confidence, items below the minimum price (1c is usually a floor rather than a trade), moves made on fewer than ten recorded trades, and moves the price gave straight back the next day. Ticking include low-confidence prices shows all of it. Even then, treat a large move on an obscure item as a mispriced listing until something confirms it — a real repricing climbs on rising volume.
